Case study of superelevation design at an expressway interchange by using ADSCivil Road software

Abstract Superelevation is known as a transverse slope made available to mitigate the impact of centrifugal force and minimize vehicle’s tendency overturn skid. However, in an intersection or interchange that has horizontal curves with small radius consecutively, it difficult design superelevation. If superelevation arrangement not good enough, alignment smooth, causing unfavourable unsafe conditions. Moreover, for expressway interchange, become more complicated by manual method because requirements term safety aesthetics higher than conventional intersection.
